Welcome to Kimaeti Farmers CBO

Since 2012, the CBO has been working with smallholder farmers in promoting farm enterprise development (banana value chain) & sustainable agriculture for food, income and climate change resilience, with special focus on women and youth.

 

Our Key Projects Thematic Areas

The main farm enterprise being promoted by the CBO is Banana Production & marketing. In banana production, the CBO is using a rapid multiplication technology to produce clean banana plantlets that are issued out to farmers at a subsidized cost.

Agroforestry Practices
We focus on Agroforestry practices such as rehabilitation of degraded lands, tree establishment and tree planting activities.
Farm Enterprise Development
The main farm enterprise being promoted by the CBO is Banana Production & marketing. We mobilize farmers towards collective marketing of bananas through the bulking centers established.
Gender Equality
Lobby and Advocacy on Gender Equality with increased focus on women, youths and children.
Sustainable Land Management Practices
The CBO builds capacity on farmers through Sustainable Land Management Practices (SALMs).
Climate Change Mitigation
Farmers training on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation.

Kimaeti Farmers CBO in Details

Kimaeti Farmers CBO is a community based organization in Bumula Sub County, Bungoma County, and Western region in the Lake Victoria Basin. It was started in September 2009 and registered with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development (Department of Gender and Social Services) in the year 2011.

National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project (NARIGP)

Kimaeti farmers Organization in partnership with Bungoma County Government is implementing the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project (NARIGP) in Bumula Sub-county.
